Replacing Text with Text Edits Tool

I'm working in Acrobat Pro 9.0, and I'm trying to change the color of the line that appears through text that is being replaced.

I can set the default color of the insertion caret to red. When I select text and type replacement text, a blue line attached to a red caret appears through the text being replaced. If I right click on the line and select Properties, I can change the color of the line to red. But the next time I replace text, the line is blue again.

Is there a way to change the default color of the line so it's always red?
