Acrobat 10 & 11 large TIFF to PDF Issue

I'm having issues converting large resolution TIFF files to PDF in version Acrobat 10 & 11 pro or stand. 

The error message I'm receiving is that "Adobe does not recognize the file format", but in Acrobat 9.0 (without any update patches) using the "Convert to Adobe PDF" option works flawlessly. 

I spoke with support and they claim it is a known issue and they're working on a fix.  I had hope this issue would have been resolved in Adobe Acrobat 11 but the issue still persists.  I would like to know when this issue will be addressed since many users at my company are affected by this.
