I have 33 folders (named for years 1921-1953), each of these has 52 subfolders (one for each week of the year). Each subfolder has 4 tif files in it that are tif scans of the 4 pages of each of the weekly newspapers (in Italian) . I need a way to combine , optimize and recognize text separately for each of all 1716 weekly 4 pages of tif files in their subfolders in batch so I end up with 1716 pdfs, one combined/optimized/ocr'd pdf for each weekly issue. I had Adobe X Standard and the Adobe employee I spoke to on the phone said I would be able to do this with Adobe XI Pro (so I just purchased it). I was able to combine/optimize and OCR the tifs in their subfolders individually with Adobe X Standard, but don't want to do it 1716 times (even though I have started (see link)).
Is there a way to batch process the files in the subfolders to get the 1716 separate pdf files I need? FYI, the files I have created are around 2 meg. I tried to combine a whole year, but the results were way too large, then I tried entire months, still to large, finally by issue. Any thing more that a couple of meg seems to be to long in downloading for our site.
I have added a link to the site where I have started the process and a screen shot .
