I'm learning how to use Acrobat to create PDF's and would like to learn more about searchability.
First, I'm on a Mac, and I created some PDF's, which I saved to my desktop. I discovered that if I type some text from PDF into Mac's search function, it will find the PDF for me. However, I can't search for PDF text with Dreamweaver.
So I was just wondering if there are any other software programs that I can use to search for text on PDF files. (I assume it's impossible to do search and replace operations on a PDF, right?)
Also, is it possible to use metadata to search for and/or organize a PDF? For example, if I give a PDF the key word "buffalo," then I can open that PDF, check its metadata and discover the key word "buffalo."
But suppose I have half a dozen PDF's with the key word "buffalo." Is there a way to search for all PDF's with a particular key word or make all these PDF's display in a particular folder?
Thanks.
