Partially Underlined Links

Hi all,

I am having problems(?) with my links that I am creating in Adobe Acrobat X Pro (10.1.1). I recieved a pdf file from another department who asked me to create bookmarks and links.

I have multiple lines that start with a number then a gap (either by tab or column from origianl program) and then text. When I highlight both the text and numbers they both are highlighted (no highlight over the gap) I then right click and 'Create Link'. In the dialogue box I choose 'visible rectangle', 'underline', 'invert', 'medium' (line thickness), 'go to a page view' (Link Action) then choose next and pick my page.

My problem is the visual look of my links. With some of the links I get a blue line under the numbers and text but not the gap with others I get an underline just under the numbers and text but not the gap. My question is why or how do I get them to be consistent? On the line that puts the underline under the gap I can not select the gap per say. I can double click over the numbers and all the numbers will be selected and I can double click over the text and hightlight the word but I can't double click over the gap to just select it (as if there is nothing there - in either instance).

As you can see by the image below the first six links have the underline beneathe the gap and the next doesn't, the next one does and the last two don't again. They are all created the using the same method as describe above.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Paul
