I am converting a Word 2012 document (my book) to a PDF using a predefined set of options in "print to PDF" mode in Adobe Pro X. One conversion crashed for some reason, so I killed the job and retrired it. This 326 page doc that used to take a couple of minutes to convert to a PDF now takes an hour or more. There are lots of pictures in the book, but that has always been true. Why has the conversion time lengthened so?

Alienware Aurora, Intel(R) Core(Tm) I7, CPU 920 @ 2.67GHZ; Intel64, Family 6 Model 26, CPU Current Clock Speed: 2668mhz; 6GB DDR3 Memory, Windows 7 Ultimate Edition 64 bit.

P. S. The conversion just completed and the file size tripled. What happened? It seems like one of the default settings in Adobe (which are ostensibly in a "joboptions" file provided by the publisher) has been changed by the crash.
