We are in the US and create a lot of documents for use in the UK. I'm having difficulties exporting and/or converting my 2010 Excel or Word project into PDF while retaining the original page layout size. My original files are all set to A4 paper size and yet every time I export, convert or print to PDF they are converted to 8 1/2"x 11". My current work around is to bring the newly created PDF into Acrobat XI Pro and then from there print it again to PDF at A4 with retain full size checked, but even this creates a huge white border around my document (essentially the content is still 8 1/2" x 11" just printing on A4 paper).
I need to be able to created A4 documents that anyone in the UK, regardless of their technical skill, can simply print so I need the final document to be in A4 size.
All documents have been properly set up in their source program as A4 documents.
For printing to PDF, I have gone into the Adobe PDF Document Properties and set the Adobe PDF Page Size to A4, gone into the Paper/Quality Advanced settings and set the paper/output size to A4, but I still end up with 8 1/2" x 11"
For exporting I have gone into the preferences > advanced settings > default paper size and put in the actual length and width measurements for A4 then export but the final file ends up 9.04 x 11.70.
And if I just select the final excel or word documents in the file folder and convert them to PDF there don't seem to be any export options, I just end up with 8 1/2" x 11".
Is there any conversion method that will read the native page size and retain it during export? I really need to find an easy workflow to accomplish this, preferably something that I can batch if at all possible.
