I'm on Mac 10.8.5, using InDesign CS6 and Acrobat Pro X 10.1.8.
As a graphic designer who sends files to production on a daily basis, Acrobat Pro is a life saver...
But it's been REALLY buggy lately...
1. Most times when I create a new PDF via ID, to replace the previous — it won't replace it unless I trash the existing one first.
2. I create a PDF file, open it, decide to make some changes (going back to InDesign), TRASH it (see above), and create a new one (same file name, of course). When I open this new file IT SHOWS THE PREVIOUS DESIGN, as if I never made any changes, or never saved a new version. As if the image of the previous file is STUCK in the Mac's memory.... I must QUIT Acrobat to launch it again, then it will show the updated PDF.
3. This mornng I created a simple 4-page document, all text in black. As usually, I saved it as a PDF using my printer's hi-res JobOptions.
When opening it in my Acrobat Pro X, checking Tools > Output Preview it showed me some of the pages having the text in black only, other pages the text shows as a combination of CMYK screens.
But then when I quit Acrobat and launch it couple hours later -- same file, all pages are fine, black ink only.
This is CLEARLY showing some abnormal behavior on the part of the program, and I'm wondering how to fix it, before I'm getting crazy....
...Thanks for your help!
