Creating pdf from Word upsets hyperlinks

Hello:

Two things happened as I used the Acrobat button in Word 2010 to create a pdf (Acrobat 11.0.5).

-  Most (but not all) of the lines under hyperlinks became bold. Very unseemly. Not good in a newsletter.

-  Hyperlink

became (in pdf)

http://www.latimes.com/local/la-me-1001-jewish-not-religious-20131001, 0,5106095.story%23axzz2oRAGYAZL

("#" towards the end becomes "%").

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to resolve this, and how I can change the pdf hyperlink to manually change "%" to "#"?
