merge PDFs with "extended features"?

I'm using Acrobat 9 Pro.

I have 7 PDF tax forms that we have filled out.  Form 990 and six schedules.

I want to merge all into a single PDF for publication.    (Form 990 is public data).

HELP!!!!!

"Document/Insert pages..." breaks because they have "extended features".

"File/Print...PDF" is not allowed.

"Save As..." gives me a clone with the same problem.

"File/Combine several files into one PDF..." trashes filled-in data and warns that the different PDF files have fields with the same name and that they're now merged.

"Save a copy..." and "Document/Insert Pages..." on the copy blows errors and has the same effect.

I'm guessing this would go better if I flatten the files but I can't figure a way to do that.

Why is this so hard?  *bangs head against wall*

P.S. I am not allowed to install third party software on this Mac, so that's right out.
