GIF's not retaining transparency in Acrobat 9.0 PDF

Hi,

I am exporting a page to Acrobat 9.0 for PDF format.

My GIFs are not retaining their transparent background - they now have a white block background.

Have used all transparent file formats.

Any ideas?
