My question is regarding Flattener Preview (Advanced > Production Tools). I have an file with transparency, created with PDF 1.5, that I would like to flatten. In Flattener Preview, I can define settings for the transparency flattener such as Line Art or Gradient resolutions. There is also a preview window showing what I assume is how the file will look like after flattening with the chosen settings. No matter what setting I choose, I always see the same image in the Preview window, and when I apply the flattening, I also see the same image in the actual PDF. Regardless of what the settings are, I always get the same result with images being degraded.
In other words, Flattening Preview does something, always the same thing, regardless of the chosen settings. And that something degrades the quality of the images in the file. Am I doing something incorrectly?
